This is a phrase that I've been hearing this week and it makes me feel so good. At first I was confused - how can I look smart? - but then I realized what it meant. It was a debate as to whether it was appropriate for me to get my hair 'plaited' or not, but it seems that there are people who do like it! I've been told by multiple locals that I look very smart. And when I wear the African hand-made skirt, I get even MORE compliments. Man.... This is great!! Definitely a self-esteem booster. (Especially since the guard at the prison told me that I am not young at 27 years old. hahaha)
