Hurry up to wait.....

Cultural differences…. Or maybe it’s just my professor. But we are supposed to be somewhere at a certain time and she may or may not be there 5-10 minutes after the fact. I know part of it is cultural, but my professor (even though she’s British) uses it to her advantage too often.  Oh well…. I won’t always be on her timetable.  And I suppose I will be learning patience on this trip.

I have decided that I will most definitely be helping support the local economy. I have already decided I’m going to have an entire room in African décor – even if some of the items weren’t meant to be décor. I love the things that they can make and they have. And it doesn’t have to be expensive, yet still look so cool. However, I am going to wait before getting crazy on buying stuff. (Don’t worry, Mom and Dad, I will be careful and try not to spend too much.)

On the way to Gulu (we left Kampala today) we crossed over the Nile River. Sadly we didn’t leave in time to see it in the daylight, but we will have the chance to see it again. It seems like an amazing river, so I wonder how pretty it is in daylight.

See - the Nile is totally right behind us!!
